Hull UK City of Culture

The prize of UK City of Culture 2017 was awarded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to the city of Hull, following a successful bid process which RSM was pleased to support. As Bid Angels we got behind the bid and pledged our support to secure this huge prize.

Hull UK City of Culture 2017 was a year-long program of events and activity to culturally transform Hull with creativity inspired by the city and told to the world. Organisations and events that included the Turner Prize, National Gallery, Blade, National Galleries of Scotland, Freedom Festival, National Portrait Gallery, Opera North, PRS, Humber Street Sesh, Royal Collection, Made In Hull, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Shakespeare Company, Tate and many more that gave a £300m boost to tourism and increased the number of visitors to over 6 million people.

Hull continues to be the UK’s City of Culture until the end of 2020. We along with other businesses in the city continue to demonstrate our support as the Hull UK City of Culture Bid Angels, to bring about change and a legacy for the city. This is an exciting time for Hull and the wider Humber region and we are proud to be part of it.
