I currently head up the risk assurance faculty at RSM, a team of some 300 people who deliver a wide range of internal audit, risk management, governance, IT risk and specialist financial services advice to more than 600 clients in the UK and overseas. I am also a member of the firms operational management team and chair the RSM International Centre of Excellence for governance, risk consulting work (the GRCC).
I began my career at the National Audit Office where I spent 10 years working across central government as well as various United Nations bodies such as WHO, UNESCO and WFP during which time I lived and worked in both Rome and Paris.
I then joined a firm called Bentley Jennison in 1994 where we had a small team of less than 20 risk assurance professionals. Over the years this team has grown to 300 people and, through two separate mergers, became part of RSM in 2013.
The variety at RSM is astounding. My clients currently include Comic Relief, FIFA, various government departments, the House of Commons, Ordnance Survey and the House of Commons as well as working on international overseas aid projects in Sub-Saharan Africa so an amazing variety which means that no two weeks are the same!
