Richard is the partner responsible for our 300 strong risk assurance faculty which delivers internal audit, fraud investigation, information systems assurance and risk management advisory services to more than 500 large public and corporate sector organisations in the UK as well as to firms and public bodies overseas and in the UK.
He has over 25 years experience in the delivery of risk management, internal audit and specialist assurance and related advisory services to large organisations (£100m+ turnover). In terms of clients Richard works in both the public and corporate sectors both here in the UK and overseas specialising in UK and central government and international public bodies as well as social housing.
Prior to coming into the profession Richard trained with the NAO where he worked across government including the home office and the MOD as well as working closely with the UN. He retains a particular interest in working with the UN, the EU, the European Investment Bank and others such DFID and USAid that fund large development and emergency aid projects in developing countries. He has led teams on the ground in countries such as Malawi, India, Sudan and Chad. He also takes partner responsibility for our work with the UK central government as well as chairing the global RSMi centre of excellence for risk advisory services.
Richard is a regular speaker at RSM conferences as well as at seminars and fora organized by the UN and others on matters pertaining to good governance and control on international aid programmes.
