Philip joined RSM in May 2011 and is a partner within the pensions group. Philip has over 20 years’ experience of delivering audit services, to some of the largest UK pension schemes. In addition to routine audit services Philip has assisted many of his own pension scheme clients in performing risk and governance reviews.

As well as client responsibilities Philip heads the pensions technical team within our pensions group and is responsible for maintaining training programmes to ensure all relevant staff working in pensions accounting and auditing, uphold technical competence.

Philip also has extensive experience of leading the audits of a variety of investment funds and investment management and asset servicing organisations ranging from some of the largest global asset servicing entities, to smaller alternative and hedge fund managers. He utilises this experience in guiding the audit process in terms of both technical and logistical challenges of auditing complex investment portfolios.

Philip has also led the audit work for a range of internal control reporting assignments (AAF01/06 and SAS70 reports) including some of the earliest applications of these frameworks to pension administrators. He also directs the provision of the RSM accreditation services to PASA (the Pension Administration Standards Association).

Philip is a member of the PRAG SORP Working Party and has previously chaired the PRAG Internal Audit Working Party. Philip has lectured on NAPF (National Association of Pension Funds) trustee training courses, APL (Association of Pension Lawyers) training courses and is a regular speaker at other industry forums.
