Phil specialises in audit and assurance and financial reporting assignments, working with a range of private and public organisations. Two areas of specific interest are the education sector and internationally active businesses – the common thread being their importance to the success of the British economy. Phil is known for the clarity of his advice and the empathy and understanding he brings to his work from a wide and varied background.
Phil’s career has encompassed audit, financial reporting, due diligence and risk management and this broad background contributes to all of his work with clients. Previous clients included listed entities such as Dollond and Aitchison and Glynwed International. He continues to work with a number of further education colleges and academy trusts alongside privately owned manufacturing and retail businesses. Current clients include British Business Bank plc, Community Academies Trust and Armitage Pet Products, makers of Good Boy treats. Between 2007 and 2013 Phil played a lead role in the development of relations with the rest of the RSM international network.
Phil is a member of the ICAEW’s disciplinary committee and is a presenter on ethical and risk management topics.
