Team RSM will have a foot in both camps at this year’s Ryder Cup following confirmation that players sponsored by the audit, tax and consulting firm will be represented in both the US and European teams.
RSM UK ambassadors Paul Lawrie and Andy Sullivan will both play key roles in the European team. While Sullivan will make his Ryder Cup debut as a player, Lawrie, who has previously represented Europe twice in the Ryder Cup, takes on the role as vice-captain.
In the US team, Davis Love III, who is supported by RSM US, takes on the captaincy. He will be joined by RSM team-mate Zach Johnson, who secured one of the US team’s coveted automatic spots last week.
David Gwilliam, chief operating officer at RSM UK said:
‘The Ryder Cup is one of the world’s most fiercely contested sporting events so it’s fantastic to have RSM-backed players on both sides. We anticipate that there’ll be some keen rivalry between RSM member firms on either side of the Atlantic in September, just as there will be on the course.’
The Ryder Cup will take place between 30 September and 2 October at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
