Norwich-based company Norse Group will be representing the UK this Friday at the European Business Awards, Europe’s biggest and toughest business competition.
The Awards are sponsored by audit, tax and consulting firm RSM and the Norse Group is one of just 11 UK firms to have made it through to the Gala Final being held on 17th June in Milan, Italy.
Norse Group is a holding company which brings together Facilities Management provider Norse Commercial Services, property consultancy NPS Group and care provider NorseCare. The company has a combined Group turnover in excess of £250 million and provides employment for over 10,000 people.
Over the last year, Norse Group has continued to expand and strengthen its position nationwide within its core markets, despite the pressures caused by the general economic climate and significant reductions in public expenditure.
As a result of these achievements, in January this year Norse Group was named a ‘UK National Champion’ in the European Business Awards. The Group was successful in the Business of the Year Award with Turnover of €150m, alongside companies including Easyjet and Mills and Reeve, and was subsequently put forward for the next stage of the competition.
The Group is now competing against 10 companies from Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Lithuania , Norway and Spain to win the Ruban d’Honneur accolade in this category.
To support their bid, Mike Britch, Norse Group Managing Director, and Group HR Director, Tricia Fuller, went before a judging panel of European business professionals to present the company and its successes.
‘It has been an extremely exciting process which I am honoured to have been a part of, and it is testimony to the hard work of our staff that we have come this far.’
Anne Holt, tax partner at sponsors RSM UK said:
‘The European Business Awards is a tough competition so it’s great to have a firm from East Anglia flying the flag for the UK. Norse Group is an excellent business with an impressive record of expansion and growth and we wish them the very best of luck on the night.’
Norse Group MD Mike Britch will attend the event, accompanied by other Norse Group Directors and Anne Holt from RSM in Bury St Edmunds.
Alongside the successful finalists in attendance there will also be VIPs including leading academics, politicians, ambassadors, and business leaders from the most successful organisations in Europe, several of whom acted as judges for the Awards.
The European Business Awards’ primary purpose is to support the development of a stronger and more successful business community throughout Europe. Additional sponsors and partners of the Awards include UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), ELITE and PR Newswire.
