FDI figures show hit to UKs reputation as investment destination

Commenting on the new Foreign Direct Investment figures released today by the Department for International Trade, Rob Donaldson, RSM's Head of Corporate Finance said:

'FDI has seen another downward leg to its lowest level (by number of projects) for 5 years and a continuation of the steady decline since the referendum vote.

'Whilst our political class (of all stripes) fiddles, the attractiveness of the UK as an investment destination continues to burn.

'The world is a big place and there are many competing demands for its capital.  The UK, sadly, does not right now shine brightly as an investment destination. One must hope we’re nearer the end of this journey than the beginning.'
