DofE challenge 2017: RSM around the world

RSM and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award: 2017 initiatives

2017 marks our 11th year of support for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award charity. This year we’re partnering with the DofE to run our own internal challenge, RSM Around the World. We’re also silver sponsor for the DofE’s first mass participation hike in the Peak District, the DofE Adventure. Our initiatives aim to raise funds and awareness to help the DofE continue to provide life changing experiences to young people in our communities.

RSM Around the World

Between 9 and 19 September, 1200 RSM staff around the UK  will engage in an active challenge, using different modes of transport to travel 24,902 miles – equivalent to the distance around the world. From walking, running and cycling, to canoeing, swimming and zorbing, the challenge will be fun-filled and action-packed. Teams will track the distances they cover throughout and challenge each other to go further while raising funds and awareness for the cause. Each of our offices and many employees have set individual distance goals and fundraising pages so we can collectively raise as much as possible.

DofE Adventure

This year, RSM is silver sponsor of the first DofE Adventure. This epic fundraising hike will take place in the Peak District on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October. RSM teams will join hundreds of others helping to raise funds for the DofE by hiking 25kms (one day) or 50kms (two days) either via signposted route or self-navigation. Participants will be able to enjoy the Base Camp experience too, including an overnight stay with pre-erected tents, hot showers, relaxation areas, campfires, live music, entertainment and bar. They'll also receive an Adventure t-shirt to trek in, and a medal to celebrate their achievement.
