IT touches everything we do at RSM. Our team rolls out the latest technology solutions to help everyone across the firm complete their objectives each day.
How long have you been at RSM and when were you made partner?
I’ve been at RSM for about 18 years. I’m primarily responsible for the internal IT of the firm. I started originally as National IT Manager, and over the years made my way to director level, and then about 18 months ago was promoted to partner.
Tell us about some recent highlights
Sometimes the key highlights are just making people smile when you deliver something new to them. We get to kit them [RSM employees] out with new technology, so actually, looking at all the new toys that you can put into the locations is one of the highlights of the job that I have got.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is working with the broader teams in the organisation. We get to work with audit and tax, and those parts of the business actually generate the income for the organisation that we work for.
What are you looking forward to this year?
The thing that I’m looking forward to most is rolling out Windows 10 to the firm – hopefully causing a few smiles on people’s faces when they can see what they can use the new technology for.
Why would someone want to join the team at RSM?
Working in the internal IT department at RSM can be very rewarding. It’s a small, tight group of people at varying ages and backgrounds, and actually the thing that they get to do is play with the newest technology and deploy that to all of our users out there to help them in their day-to-day jobs.
